Spotted Eagle Owl webcam installed

We installed the webcam 2 months ago in an old pine tree in George overlooking a nesting site that the Spotted Eagle Owls (Scientific: bubo africanus) have been using for the last 15 years, so it makes perfect sense to install an infra-red based webcam as Owls are active at night and we can provide Midafricam visitors with a 24 hr webcam uploading an image every 60 seconds.

We will post most webcam alerts on our Twitter feed or on the Forums page . The webcam can be viewed here , please register and let us hear from you, your views, opinions, suggestion.

Mossel Bay - The Point webcam - in testing phase

In association with MBay-Point-cam.com we will be utilising their webcam. The webcam was installed at Delfinos restaurant at The Point in Mossel Bay. At the moment in the testing phase the camera will upload an image every 5 minutes of the beach and waves at the Point.

Later on the various preset locations for the lighthouse, Tidals, beach will be enabled so we hope you enjoy the webcam in the mean time. The camera is stalling on uploads because of bandwidth congestion
